Harvested Faith Christian Academy endeavors to provide all students with an enriching, wholistic, educational experience that produces well-rounded scholars prepared to be contributing citizens and leaders in their homes, community, and world. Activities offered in any given school year may vary to meet the interests and needs of the student body each year, but the following extra-curricular activities are a staple of HFCA to be consistently integrated.
BASKETBALL
Beyond the health benefits of engaging in athletic activities, organized team sports develop valuable life skills, promote teamwork, discipline, and leadership, and build opportunities for social engagement to foster camaraderie and a sense of community.
CULINARY ARTS
Students interested in culinary arts will have the opportunity to join a cooking club that will learn and practice recipes using ingredients gathered from local community gardens. On a quarterly basis, this group will host a dinner for the school and neighboring community with a full menu highlighting fresh, healthy, and seasonal flavors.
FAITHFUL DEFENDERS
The Faithful Defenders is a male mentoring group that prepares young men to faithfully defend the faith as followers of Christ. This group serves to prepare young men for adulthood following guidelines found in Scripture. Modeling iron sharpening iron, this group will address topics that men of all ages face and learn more about authentic manhood according to the Bible.
FUTURE CITY
Future City is a hands-on cross-curricular educational program that brings STEM to life. Open to Middle and High School students as an avenue to display their innovation, ingenuity, and talent, this yearly competition provides students with an outlet to imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future that showcase their solution to a citywide sustainability issue. This program allows students model engineers by designing a futuristic city with innovative solutions to some of today’s most pressing issues.
LADIES OF THE HARVEST
Designed to foster personal and professional development for young ladies stepping into womanhood, this mentoring club will focus on the definition of a virtuous woman as found in Proverbs 31. This group creates the space for young women to seek the truth behind God’s design, ask questions, and celebrate their role in God’s Kingdom. They will also be prepared to faithfully defend the faith as followers of Christ.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Participation in the Student Council is open to all students who model good citizenship and are in good academic standing. The Student Government is to function as:
Representatives of the entire student body
Student advisory board to the School Administration
Organizers for student-led activities and encouragers of school spirit and loyalty
Facilitators in meeting the needs of their brothers and sisters in Christ through positive peer interaction in prayer, service, and fellowship.
YEARBOOK
Students interested in photography, digital media, and writing are invited to capture school events to be used on social media platforms as well as a culminating end-of-year project which could be an actual book, video production, or other media source that preserves the events, students, and major occurrences of each school year for historical data.
YOUNG AMBASSADORS
A club of global student learners and travelers who take regular domestic trips as well as a biennial international trip to learn more about the world in which we live. It is our belief that when students actually experience life in another culture, the world becomes less complicated, their perspectives become broader, and their understanding, tolerance, and compassion rise to another spiritual level. This helps to bolster their Hearts for Humanity.
